Web Hosting: What is Overselling?
Overselling is enabled by default on all of our dedicated and virtual solutions. This allows you to create sub-account accounts with unlimited allocated hard drive space and bandwidth, even if you don’t technically have the space or bandwidth available. While the sub-account may see unlimited, their usage still counts towards your overall space and bandwidth allotment. It becomes your responsibility to monitor your client’s usage to ensure that you do not run out of legitimate resources.
Overselling on our reseller and cloud reseller solutions is not available at this time.” If you are interested in overselling, please look into our virtual (VPS) solutions.

When will you allow overselling on reseller accounts?
John Oliver at Site5 September 17, 2013 at 4:47 pm
Hello Mark,
We don’t have any plans to allow overselling on the reseller products at this time. This is because it could cause performance issues, and possible server stability problems for not only your clients, but all the clients on the server. However, you do have full access to the overselling capability on our VPS products.
