I have an IPhone 8 and cannot get my email to allow for choice of an IMAP. When it verifies the account it goes straight into a Pop server. I can change the incoming and outgoing server names but once that is completed then it just kicks me back to the page with the list of the accounts.
On my previous phone I could see all my folders from my account, with the POP on this one I can only see what comes in.
I found on another blog here, a way to get it to let me use the IMAP by faking a domain name then it let me into IMAP. It did download email and folders showed up but then when I tried to email it gave me the message below:
“server rejected it because it does not allow relaying”
When it was a POP server it would allow me to send email

Hi Eva,
I saw your comment on the other article that you mention here, and have responded with a possible solution. “You will likely need to change the outgoing mail server name to the one your ISP requires. A lot of ISPs will not allow using an alternate mail server. You can contact them and ask what their outgoing mail server name is, and how to authenticate to it.”

Any tutorial for iOS 9? I’ve searched all over with no luck :(
James Davey January 14, 2016 at 5:09 am
Hello Jessie,
iOS9 should use the same steps as in this video, except the Add Account button will be at the bottom of the screen, rather than the top.
Jessie January 17, 2016 at 2:10 pm
Thank you! I did try it this way with no luck, but I was also having a hard time following the speaker – my hearing isn’t super sharp or maybe I was just totally missing something. I’ll try again!

Hello Jessie,
Sorry about that. You can always contact our support team as well, if this is not working for you.

The video won’t play. Please post text and not a video.
Gina April 28, 2016 at 5:26 pm
The video is finally playing, but the images are so small that I cannot read the text. Full screen does not help because the resolution is poor. This is really unacceptable. Please, please stop posting videos and just post text with screen shots where needed. It’s faster from a user standpoint and much easier to use.

Hi Gina!
I apologize for the issues you are running into with playing the video and we do take your feedback seriously. Most of our tutorials are text based and we have no plans to do any other video tutorials in the future. All posts from this point forward will be text based with screenshots. I hope this helps!

We have recently moved in to site5 and after that my iphone and mail app on my computer stopped fetching messages while on wifi. They’re both working well on my office’s network or on my phone’s 4G but when I get home there’s no way I can get them to work with my router. Any clue??
Thanks for you help.
Best,
Gustavo

Hi Gustavo!
That sounds as if your home network IP may be blocked by the server’s firewall. If you would please open a ticket through your Backstage panel, our support team will be glad to take a look and find out why you can’t connect from your home network.

Hi Corey!
Thanks for your answer.
I’ve just opened a ticket and I’ll wait for it.
Best,
Gustavo

Hi Mark!
We do understand that this is something that has been requested quite a bit and we’ll be doing our best to get a tutorial up soon. Again, we’re sorry that this hasn’t been posted as quick as some would like and we’ll do our best to get one out soon!
