Domain Transfer: OpenSRS

Comments Off on Domain Transfer: OpenSRS

This demo assumes you have a domain name registered through OpenSRS, and starts from this login screen

Now let’s learn how to transfer your domain name away from this registrar, and into the domain registry of your choice

Domain name transfers must be initiated at the new registrars website…. that is, the website for the domain registrar where you want your domain name transferred to

However, you must first ensure that your domain name is not locked, or being prevented from being transferred out of this registry….. and that’s what we’re going to do now…..

1) Enter your Domain Name here

2) Then enter your OpenSRS Username and Password in the boxes here

3) Click Manage Domain

You are now logged in to your OpenSRS account

4) Click the Domain Locking link here

As indicated here, this domain name is currently not locked, which means you are free to transfer it away from this registrar and into the registry of your choice

Also, we are unable to change the locking status for this domain as indicated here….. so we would have to contact our domain supplier for assistance, if we wanted to change the locking status from it’s current state

You will also need to obtain the Authorization Code before transferring the domain to Site5. To start the transfer to Site5, see this article.
