DNS: IP Location Discrepancies
In this article, we will discuss the possible reasons why it may appear that your IP does not resolve to your correct server location.
While it is uncommon, it is possible that an IP location lookup may show that the IP address assigned to your service is not for the same location where your service is hosted. This is due to the fact that sometimes the company/organization that assigned us the IP address is not based out of the same location as the server your service resides on. When this happens, most lookup tools reflect the address/location of where the company/organization that assigned the IP is based out of.
The server itself is hosted at the correct location and the IP address is pointed correctly. It also does not mean that there are any adverse effects in regards to routing, or ping times.
