Getting Started: Getting Familiar with the Control Panels

Comments Off on Getting Started: Getting Familiar with the Control Panels

In this section, we will provide you with a basic overview of the different types of control panels we offer here at Site5 for our different product lines.

Let us first talk about Backstage. Backstage serves primarily as our billing and support panel, however you also have access to many other valuable features such as backup restore requests, domains, and much more.

In regards to controlling your website, all of our current services use control panels based on the industry standard cPanel/WHM. We have two versions depending on the product line you have ordered.

Shared Hosting, Cloud Hosting, and SiteAdmin VPS

All of these services use our custom designed SiteAdmin panel. SiteAdmin is a shell for cPanel that allows for better ease of use and gives you an intuitive way of managing your service. It is designed in a way to make it easy to learn and use allowing you to worry less about how to do something and in turn gives you more time to actually create, edit, and maintain your website.

Reseller Hosting and cPanel VPS

These services use the standard cPanel interface. cPanel has been the web hosting standard for many years and is used worldwide. It allows you to easily manage your hosting service and helps enable you to create, edit and maintain your website.

Both of these control panels are web based, meaning you do not need to install any software to access cPanel or SiteAdmin. It also means that no matter where you are or what computer you are using, you can make changes to your website/hosting service simply by logging into your account online.

We also offer the ability with some of our product lines (hostPro + Turbo, Reseller, Cloud, and VPS products) to create separate accounts under your service. You can do this from either MultiAdmin or the WHM panel (depending on your product line).

We have detailed KnowledgeBase articles covering how to use all of these panels. Please click the link below to be redirected to those articles.
